The Rat Shop, a Fan Fiction Inspired by Ratatouille

When I think about it, I did love Remmy. But my hatred for rats grew stronger and stronger – it overpowered my love for Remmy.

The spark I once felt was no longer there.

I don't know why I have found myself in this rat extermination shop with rat poison in my hand.

I could feel my whole body tense up when I heard a squeak that sounded too familiar. I turned to look, and there he was, dashing in through the open door and into the shop.

“Remmy!” I exclaim.

“Collet, how could you? I thought you loved me,” says Remmy.

Tears erupted from Remmy's eyes like a volcano but I simply felt nothing but pity. My love had faded. It was like I never loved him at all.

It was just a wave of emotions like a teenage girl's first crush. Not really gonna go anywhere. It's too late.

“Remmy we can't work. I don't love you like I love Linguine. You were a phase. Linguine is forever,” I responded.

“But Collet, I love you. You’re my first love. I can change for the better. For us! For the baby!” Remy squeaked.

“Baby? What baby? Remmy, you are young and not my type. We just don't mix. You are oil and I am water. This can’t work. I’m leaving you and this store,” I say in one long breath.

Remmy sobs, “I’m..” sniffle sniffle “pregnant, Collet, and” sniffle sniffle “it's yours Collet.”

I stare at Remmy. “Impossible!” I say. “You’re a rat.”

“So what,” Remmy scoffs. “I'm keeping this baby and nothing will stop me. After all, it's OUR child.”

“No, I refuse to accept that. It makes no sense.” I gape at him, and walk out, my basic flats slapping against the floor, the sound echoing through the store.

Collet weeped as the door clicked closed behind her. She knew Remmy loved her. But she loved someone else – HIS BEST FRIEND, Linguine.
